Abstract/Description
“What do I say to a nurse in tears with a pressure injury on her nose from her PPE who is asking for a break after looking after COVID-19 patients when you are already down 3 or 4 nurses?” – Nurse Manager
Given the dramatic increase in the use of PPEs by Canadian healthcare professionals related to the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic, the NSWOCC is providing an evidence summary for the prevention and management of PPE-related skin injuries. This report, along with a package including a quick reference enabler, video, and PowerPoint is available to assist those on the front lines caring for patients from suffering skin breakdown during this difficult time.
Thank you to all our guests who attended the live webinar on April 7, 2020. We truly appreciate your participation, questions, and commitment to honouring and supporting those affected by COVID-19.
Thank you as well to NSWOCC members Kimberly Leblanc, Corey Heerschap, Britney Butt and Julia Bresnai who have worked tirelessly to make this webinar and tool kit possible.
