Dr. Ian Wilson
MD, MPH, Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgeon
Dr. Ian Wilson is a Plastic Reconstructive and Hand surgeon with an interest in complex wound care management. Dr. Ian Wilson was born in Ireland, completed his surgical training in the USA and is now living and working in PEI. Dr. Wilson completed his Master of Public Health (M.P.H.), at the University of Minnesota Minneapolis in 1999, majoring in epidemiology with an emphasis in biostatistics and outcome-based research. He completed his General Surgery training at the University of South Florida (Tampa, USA) in 2002. Dr. Wilson also completed his Plastic Reconstructive training at Augusta University (Augusta, Georgia) in 2006. Dr. Wilson was awarded the Webster International Cleft Surgery Fellowship with Interplast in 2007, Burn Reconstruction and Hand Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgeons, and Plastic Surgery. His research has involved publication of sentinel article, peer review journal articles, a book chapter and award from Plastic surgery Research council. He has volunteered in around 50 missions with Operation Smile, Rotaplast, Resurge, Médecins, Sans Frontiers (Doctors without Borders). Dr. Ian Wilson is an active delegate as Surgeon for the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Response Unit.
