Leslie Heath is a Certified Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy & Continence, whose practice focuses on providing specialized holistic assessment, prevention, treatment and management strategies for patients living with acute or chronic wounds, ostomies and fistulas. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, she provides consultation and treatment recommendations while advocating on behalf of patients across the continuum of care. Her role also entails providing leadership, mentoring, and provision of education to patients and staff, as well as program development, quality care monitoring and participation in research.
As both an Adjunct Lecturer at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto, and a Clinical Faculty member for the Wound, Ostomy & Continence Institute’s Education Program, she combines clinical expertise and a passion for teaching to provide mentorship to students.
Leslie also participates as a Medical Advisor on the board for Ostomy Toronto, and is actively involved with her professional organization Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Canada.
