Lina Martins is a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Certified Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence, at London Health Sciences Centre. She graduated from Western University with a BSc and MSc in Nursing and completed her wound, ostomy and continence education through the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Institute (formerly CAET Academy) in 1999.
Lina has published in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters on both wound/ostomy issues, inclusive of peristomal skin complications, a research validated/standardized peristomal skin tool, Ontario Provincial Enhanced Recovery after Surgery, malignant wounds, and has participated in the development of RNAO Best Practice Guidelines for Ostomy Care.
In her CNS role, she provides consultation on acute/chronic wounds, ostomy care, with a specialized focus on fistula management and complicated stoma presentations and is co-chair of an interdisciplinary team guiding wound care program and policy development.
