Diversity of Provincial Healthcare: NSWOC Challenges Across the Country

Canada is a large country consisting of ten provinces and three territories. Each province and territory has their own health care system resulting in thirteen different health care systems across the country. In this presentation, Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada�s Regional Directors will provide an overview of their respective provinces and territories including the health care system structure, ease of accessing an NSWOC, and communication within the health care system. The challenges of each system will be discussed from the perspective of the Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence when caring for patients requiring wound, ostomy and continence care across the continuum.
