Corey Heerschap is the Clinical Nurse Specialist for Wound and Ostomy at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario. In this role, he completes advanced wound and ostomy consultations throughout the facility, develops hospital policies, provides education to staff and patients, and conducts research. Corey completed a Master of Science in Community Health Specializing in Wound Prevention and Care and the International Interprofessional Wound Care Course from the University of Toronto. He is certified in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing through the Canadian Nurses Association. He is also the past treasurer for Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada. He has also conducted and published research in the fields of wound care, ostomy management, and nursing education with a focus on clinical education. He is currently completing the PhD in Nursing program at Queens University.
