Eleanore Howard has been an NSWOC for over 20 years. Besides a passion for clinical practice and in particular ostomies, she has taught in a variety of settings including university distance programs, a school of nursing and as a Clinical Educator. She is currently an Academic Advisor and Ostomy Lead with the WOC Institute. She developed the first tele-medicine service for the provision of ET (now NSWOC) nursing in Canada in 1999. In 2014, she received the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia Excellence Award for Clinical Practice.
