Mara Zello is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse at Bozeman Health in Bozeman, Montana and a consultant for Stryker’s Sage business. She is a certified wound and ostomy practitioner in an outpatient wound and hyperbaric oxygen therapy clinic and provides in-home care for geriatric patients.

She earned her BFA from University of Montana in 2003, her BSN in 2007 from Northern Arizona University, her MSN from Graceland University in 2020 and has been certified in wound and ostomy care since 2015. Her career as a WOC nurse has spanned from bedside nurse in a burn unit to inpatient and outpatient wound care specialties. She has lectured nationally on topics ranging from pressure injury prevention, incontinence associated dermatitis, neonatal wounds and treatment, and ostomy care.

She has participated in numerous quality improvement projects, leading to successful magnet recertification. Mrs. Zello continues to pursue research opportunities in incontinence-associated dermatitis and quality wound care treatments.
