Will the Conference Sessions be recorded?The National Conference in May 2023 will be returning to a fully in-person conference in Ottawa. We will not be able to offer an online option unfortunately.

How do I participate in the Conference Passport?When you check in at the National Conference's registration desk (4th Floor of the Westin Ottawa), you will receive a Conference Passport. This Passport will have a list of all the Exhibitors at the National Conference's Exhibit Hall (4th Floor of the Westin Ottawa). Once the Exhibit Hall opens at 10:00am on Thursday, May 4th, your goal will be to obtain a sticker from each Exhibitor before 3:30pm on Saturday, May 5th and submit it back to the registration desk. Those who submit their completed conference passports by the deadline will be automatically entered in a draw to win one of many amazing prizes provided by NSWOCC! Winners will be contacted via email and announced on the conference website.

Is there a gender-neutral bathroom available at the National Conference?A gender-neutral bathroom will be located on the 4th Level of the Westin, opposite the Prince Edward Island (PEI) room, near the Exhibit Hall. To view the conference floorplan, please click below.

When does registration open? Where is it located?Registration opens at 10:30am on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023. The registration desk is located on the 4th Floor of the Westin at the top of the Escalators, directly beside the elevators. Registration will be open during the following times: Wednesday, May 3rd from 10:30am to 9:00pm Thursday, May 4th from 6:00am to 6:00pm Friday, May 5th from 6:30am-onwards Saturday, May 6th from 6:30am-onwards

What is the Dress Code?During the course of the National Conference, the standard dress code is typically business-casual. However, please make sure to stay comfortable as there’s lots of education to attend throughout the day. If you are attending the Networking Event and Disney Lip-Sync Battle on Friday evening, we encourage you to wear your favourite Disney attire to match our contestants! The evening will be informal, with food stations provided, so for those who do not have Disney attire, business casual or smart-casual is just fine! The Banquet & WOC Institute Graduation Ceremony on Saturday evening will be a formal affair, as we celebrate the successes of NSWOCs and SWANs across the country, and of our graduates of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Institute!

Do I need to register my plus-one for the Networking Event or Banquet & WOC Institute Graduation?Please note that any additional guests coming to the WOC Institute Graduation Ceremony & Banquet and/or the Networking Event must be pre-registered through our conference registration portal. This is to ensure that there are enough meals and seats for each attendee and that their dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Join us in Ottawa from May 3 – 7th, 2023 as we gather again in person for the first time in over 3 years! We are looking forward to seeing everyone again. The theme of the 42nd NSWOCC National Conference is “Let’s Face it! Together!” and will be focused on advancing specialized care, addressing health care challenges and providing an educational program that showcases wound, ostomy and continence care.
Our National Conference welcomes Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOCs) and Skin Wellness Associate Nurses (SWANs) from across the country as well as hospital and community-based nurses, and allied healthcare professionals including physicians, RNs, NPs, practical nurses.
On Thursday, we invite you to join us and our Industry Partners to learn new and innovative products in wound, ostomy and continence for our NSWOCC Industry Advisory Council's "Industry and Science Day".
Returning to the conference program will be the popular hands-on advanced specialty workshops, WOC Institute sponsored workshops and 5 learning streams: Wound, Ostomy, Continence, SWAN, and French sessions.
A special registration event will be provided for participants to learn more about poster presentations and publication writing over breakfast on Sunday morning. In addition, there will be a special registration accredited event on dermatology for advanced health care practitioners.

Le thème du 42e congrès national est « Faisons face à l’avenir! Ensemble! » et offre un programme éducatif sur les soins des plaies, stomies et continence. Le congrès sera axé sur l’avancement des soins spécialisés et les défis en matière de soins de santé.
Le congrès réunira des infirmières spécialisées en plaies, stomies et continence (ISPSC), des infirmières associées au bien-être de la peau (SWAN) de tout le pays, des infirmières de soins aigus et de soins communautaires ainsi que des professionnels des soins de santé connexes, notamment des médecins, des infirmières, des infirmières cliniciennes, des infirmières auxiliaires et des infirmières praticienne. Joignez-vous à nous et à nos partenaires de l’industrie pour découvrir de nouveaux produits et des innovations dans le domaine des plaies, stomies et continence.
Le programme du congrès comprendra des ateliers de pratique avancée, des ateliers parrainés par l’institut d’enseignement en plaies, stomies et continence (IS-PSC) séparés en 5 catégories : plaies, stomies, continence, SWAN et sessions en français. Le dimanche matin, les participants sont invités à s’inscrire à un événement qui leur permettra d’en savoir plus sur les présentations d’affiches et les publications tout en prenant leur petit-déjeuner. En outre, il y aura un événement accrédité à inscription sur la dermatologie pour les praticiens de soins de santé avancés.
