Abstract

The purpose of this presentation is describing a successful project involving the scientific development and planning and clinical application of �wet� amnion allografts to patients with diabetic foot, surgical and traumatic wounds. The application of amniotic membranes have been shown to promote wound healing through a variety of mechanisms.
By the end of this session the learner will be able to:
1) Identify the anatomic and physiologic properties of amnion allografts
2) Describe the process of developing a successful protocol for case finding, consent, application and documentation around amnion allograft
3) Review outcomes from several cases of patients who were treated with amnion allografts to achieve wound closure
