Incontinence-Associated Dermatitis: The Secret Ingredient to Pressure Injuries: Hosted by Stryker

In this presentation we will discuss the relationship of incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) to pressure injuries (PIs) through prevalence, pathophysiology, and shared risk factors. A quick review of how to educate staff to differentiate between IAD and PIs, as well as other differential diagnoses to consider will be covered. Finally, we will examine the best ways to implement effective prevention and treatment strategies for IAD, and how this can potentially lower hospital acquired pressure injury rates. We will also cite new codes for IAD and investigate current research needs.
