Dermatology Program for Advanced Healthcare Professionals

This is a separate program running parallel to the National Conference. On Wednesday, May 1, we will be holding a duplicate session from last year. On Sunday, May 5, we will be holding a new Dermatology Workshop which will be a continuation of the prior sessions, covering 

Biopsies, Fungal Scraping, and Bacterial Cultures.

It will highlight common diagnosis and treatments in the field of dermatology. Designed for non-dermatologists, participants will increase their expertise to improve dermatological patient outcomes.

 

This program is only available to:

  • Physicians (Family Practice, General Practitioner)

  • Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOCs)

  • Nurse Practitioners

  • Clinical Nurse Specialists

  • Family Practice Nurses

  • Allied health professionals (pharmacists, rehab, occupational and physical therapists, etc.)

  • IIWCC Graduates

  • Clinicians who have completed the ECHO Skin & Wound

Notice for NSWOCC Members

NSWOCC Members will be prompted to enter their Membership ID (Registration Number) when they register. To find your Registration Number, please log into your Membership Account at www.membersnswoc.ca. It will be listed in the purple box on your main account home screen.

Notice for Daily Conference Registrants

Please note that the Networking Event as well as the Banquet & Graduation Ceremony tickets are NOT included in this ticket price. If you would like to purchase a ticket for either of those events, please register a second time and select a ticket under "Networking Event and/or Banquet & WOC Institute Graduation Ceremony".

Debridement Workshop Elligibility

Please note that these workshops iare only available for graduates of the NSWOC Program or SWAN Program, and/or those who have completed the Advanced Wound Debridement Course, or if you believe you meet the requisite education requirements for the workshop, such as the successful completion of a rigorous curriculum-based wound management program including stringent outcome measures such as examination.

Pre-Conference Workshops

Pre-Conference Workshops on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 will take place in two concurrent slots. Limited spots are available. To confirm your spot, please select your preferred workshop amongst the concurrent options in both slots if you intend on attending the conference on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

As of March 14, 2024, the following pre-conference workshops scheduled for have reached maximum capacity:

Wednesday, May 1 from 9:00am-12:00pm

  1. Advanced Complex Wounds - Debridement Workshop (for NSWOCs and SWANs only)

  2. Advanced Lower Leg Assessment Workshop

Wednesday, May 1 from 1:00pm-5:00pm

  1. The Sweet and Salty of reducing planter foot pressures" Workshop

  2. “Managing the Bulge”: Parastomal Hernia Prevention, Assessment, and Management Workshop

  3. Advanced Ostomy and Fistula Workshop

Note that the Debridement Workshop will be held twice to accommodate more people: once on Wednesday, May 1, and once on Sunday, May 5. As of February 5, 2024, both workshops have reached full capacity.
