Greg German MD, PhD, FRCPC, DTM&H
Dr. Greg German is an expert in fun facts in microbiology and infectious diseases. He obtained a Ph. D. from Arizona State University, then attended the University of Ottawa for Medical School and Medical Microbiology Residency. This ended 33 years after kindergarten education. He then moved to Prince Edward Island and worked side by side with excellent NSWOCs including Marcia Leard the incoming President. He was awarded the Medical Society of Prince Edward Island President's Leadership award in 2015 after only three years of practice in infectious diseases and microbiology.
Dr. German has given multiple, interactive Jeopardy-like talks and feels that learning needs to be shared at the family dinner table in this technologically distracting age. Since mid-2021 he has moved to Unity Health Toronto and has started a chronic infection/phage therapy clinic at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. He is the working group lead of the Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (AMMI) Canada's Phage Therapy as well as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. In his spare time, he is a coach for coaches for his son's year-round baseball team, attends Blue Jay games, and enjoys the cottage-life in PEI.
