Maria Becerra is a Clinical Nurse Specialist for wound care at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital in Toronto. She is passionate about the specialized, clinical care she provides to patients and families, in addition to developing and implementing education for nurses and other members of the interprofessional team. Maria is part of various committees, she participates in research and leads multiple quality improvement initiatives including hospital wide pressure injury prevalence studies to drive practice changes. She began her career as a Registered Nurse in the Orthopaedic and Neurology department eight years ago. After completing her Master of Clinical Science in Wound Healing at Western University, she began to work with the wound care team at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto before joining Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital.​
