Trained as a biologist and a nurse, Valérie went on to obtain her certification as a Nurse Specialized in Wounds, Ostomy, and Continence. Since 2013, she has held the position of Clinical Nurse Specialist in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Care at Montfort Hospital in Ottawa, where in addition to providing direct patient care, she actively participates in the training of nursing and medical staff. She is occasionally invited to teach wound care courses at Sherbrooke and Ottawa University. She is widely involved in Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOCC/ISPSCC), and contributes to the dissemination of documents produced by the association for the entire French-Canadian community.
